Go to the AV Library News for information on the newest materials in the Audiovisual Library collection.
The Audiovisual Library catalog is online. It includes all titles available to borrow from the AV Library. You can search it to find the newest titles as well as all other library holdings.
Eight DVDs per shipment is the most you can borrow at one time. You can borrow the DVDs for 30 days, which includes shipping time.
Educational videos can be very expensive. As noted above, they start at about $50 and go up from there. You should base your decision on several things, such as:
a. How often do I need to use the video?
If the video is used more than six times per year, purchasing is recommended.
b. Will the information in the video need to be updated frequently?
Health information changes all the time and there are constantly new ways to reinvent safety procedures. The Audiovisual Library tries to keep the most updated materials available to you without costs. If there is a health or safety video you would like to see in our library, please let us know. If you purchase the video and it becomes outdated, you will have to buy a replacement, which could be expensive.
c. How will you keep track of your purchased videos?
The Audiovisual Library will attend to all your scheduling needs. With your own video collection, someone at your organization will have to do this. Videos could get misplaced or borrowed and not returned, requiring follow-up. We take care of this for you with our service.
You should return the videos in the container in which they were received. Most small packages are sent in bubble envelopes that may be reused. If the envelope is damaged, return items in a similar envelope with padding or a small cardboard box. Larger video packages are sent in cardboard or fiberboard boxes. Please reuse these items to return materials. Do not write directly on the boxes. Use the return label included for resending. Tape all containers securely.
Return shipping costs will vary depending on several factors, including how many videos are in the package, if there are large folders of written materials included, and what shipper you choose to return the package to. You may use the carrier of your choice, but always make sure to insure the return package.
If the package is lost or damaged in transit, you will be billed for the full replacement cost for each video contained in the package. This could cost you anywhere between $50.00 and $500.00 per video. Insurance costs a lot less. If you have insured the package for the $200.00 per video as requested in the Statement of Responsibility, you will not be liable for any replacement costs.
