Starting in 2020, the Texas Center for Nursing Workforce Studies and the Health Professions Resource Center changed the methodology for counting nurses. In 2020 and onward, nurses will be counted only at their highest level of licensure. For example, a Registered Nurse who maintains an LVN license, will not be counted in the LVN file and an APRN with a Texas RN license will not be counted in the RN file. For this reason, data tables from 2019 and earlier are no longer available for download. For supply numbers based on this new methodology for 2019 and before, please email us.
